First Reconciliation

First Reconciliation is a beautiful opportunity for children to encounter God's mercy and experience His love and forgiveness.

Preparation for First Reconciliation begins in First Grade and is completed during the child's second year of Religious Education. Through classroom instruction, prayer, and family involvement, children learn about God's infinite love, the importance of forgiveness, and the healing grace of this sacrament.

Because parents are the primary educators of their children in the faith, they are invited to participate in meetings and a parent retreat designed to help families accompany their children as they prepare to celebrate this important milestone.

For more information, please contact the Religious Education Office at 305.665.0037.

First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion is one of the most joyful and sacred moments in a child's faith journey.

Following their preparation for First Reconciliation, children receive First Holy Communion during their second year of Religious Education. Through prayer, catechesis, participation in Sunday Mass, and family involvement, children prepare to receive Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist for the first time.

As they learn about the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, children are invited to deepen their relationship with Him and recognize the Eucharist as the source and summit of our Catholic faith. Families are encouraged to attend Mass regularly and continue nurturing their child's faith at home throughout the preparation process.

For more information, please contact the Religious Education Office at 305.665.0037.

Confirmation

Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism and strengthens young people through the gifts of the Holy Spirit to live their faith more fully as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Preparation for Confirmation is a multi-year journey that begins in middle school and culminates with the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation in 8th Grade. Through ongoing faith formation, prayer, service, and participation in parish life, candidates are invited to deepen their relationship with Christ and embrace a greater commitment to the mission of the Church.

Regular attendance, active participation, and completion of program requirements are important components of the preparation process and help ensure that candidates are spiritually prepared to receive this sacrament.

For more information regarding Confirmation preparation, please contact the Religious Education Office at 305.665.0037.

Marriage

"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament." (Canon 1055)

As a parish, Epiphany Church takes its responsibility in the preparation and celebration of the sacrament of matrimony very seriously. As a community, we rejoice that you have chosen your parish church for your wedding. We further hope you are taking this momentous step in your lives with joy and with a commitment to share your lives with each other forever.

The Archdiocese of Miami, also vigilant about the seriousness of entering into a lifelong union, has issued special regulations regarding marriage between minors and up to nineteen (19) years of age. Epiphany supports and observes this regulation. In order to enable the couple to carry out the proper preparation, we require a twelve-month period prior to the wedding.

Who Can Marry at Epiphany?
• Anyone registered in the parish for two years or more.
• Anyone who is immediate family of a parishioner registered for two years or more.
• Anyone who lives within the official parish boundaries.
